Meet Our Heartfelt Team
At Local Heart, we have two types of mentors:
Community Mentors – These mentors work one-on-one with participants to support them in reaching their personal and NDIS goals. Whether it’s learning independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, using public transport, or attending appointments, our mentors walk alongside participants every step of the way. They also support community participation, social engagement, communication confidence, and workplace readiness — including resume writing and job-seeking skills.
Hospitality Mentors – Based in our café program, these mentors help deliver our tailored hospitality and employment program. They work side-by-side with participants in real café settings, teaching job skills and supporting transitions into other hospitality roles or workplaces. Learn more about our program at www.generalstoreattheheart.com.
